Queens stroll against hapless United Queen of the South moved into third spot in the First Division with a comfortable 3-0 win over rock-bottom Airdrie. The hosts went ahead in the 27th minute when the Airdrie defence failed to clear William McLaren's corner and the ball fell for David Lilley to turn it home from close range to mark his 100th appearance for the club. The Dumfries side moved further ahead four minutes later when Derek Holmes saw a shot palmed down by goalkeeper Stephen Robertson and Stewart Kean ran in to slot home the rebound. Queens put the issue beyond doubt seven minutes from time when Dennis Wyness headed home a cross from Barry Wilson.
