Bottom of the table Morton will be lead by interim boss David Hopkin at their Cappielow home for the first time. The Greenock side add fit again Slovakian duo Michael Habai and Thomas Picier with the long term injured Reece Hands back in contention for a place after playing in a midweek reserve game.

Missing for the Greenock men are the injured Scott Taggart, David O’Brien and Tony Wallace and the suspended Kabba-Modou Cham.

Hopkin said: “We have been working hard in training on a couple of things that I think will improve us. Dundee will be looking to bounce back from losing in the Scottish Cup so we have to play well to get the win we need.”

Dundee will look to build on their 3-0 win over table-toppers Hamilton a fortnight ago as opposed to their Scottish Cup exit to Raith Rovers last weekend and they can call upon the fit again Willie Dyer.

Kyle Benedictus remains out with a back problem and manager John Brown has reduced his available pool of players as Steven Doris has joined Arbroath on loan, Jim Thomson has moved to East Fife on a similar basis and Jamie Reid is also moving short term to Montrose.

Assistant manager Ray Farningham said: “We will come across a side with a lot of spirit as they will be looking to get a win to kick start their season and impress their interim manager. We lost to Raith but we will put that behind us and move on.”
