Scullions earns Clyde a point

Patrick Scullion rescued a point for Clyde against champions Alloa in a 1-1 draw at the Broadwood Stadium.

The visitors got off to a flying start when Stephen May collected Ryan McCord's pass before finishing well inside the area.

Robert Winters came close to a second but Nicholas Feely did well to fist his effort away.

The hosts rarely looked like threatening and failed to create a single opportunity in a poor first half.

But they returned after the break with more purpose and were level just after the hour-mark when Scullion converted Gavin Brown's cross.

James Doyle came close to restoring the lead immediately but could not keep his header down inside the area.

The Bully Wee could have snatched all three points themselves but Scott Bain did well to keep out Declan Gallagher's header in the closing stages.

Hooray for Hay but Gray's away

Clyde welcome back captain Paul Hay after injury as Division Three champions Alloa visit Broadwood, however Bully Wee defender Iain Gray misses out through suspension.

Boss Jim Duffy is again without Brain McQueen, Kieran Brannan, Daniel Fitzpatrick and Jack Sloss through injury, however he wants his side to finish their home campaign on a high.

Duffy said: "Alloa are the best side in the Third Division by quite a large margin. Congratulations to them on winning the title but we are not going to stand back and admire them.

"We played well in our draw at Peterhead last week and will be looking to build on that. I want us to finish our home games this season with a memorable victory."

Alloa will be at full strength, with manager Paul Hartley targeting an 11th away success this term.

Hartley said: "We have two games left and I want us to finish the season with a bit of style and two wins.

"It will not be easy at Clyde as they always work us really hard. We have drawn with them and beaten them 1-0 in our other two meetings and I would reckon that this will be a tight game again.

"We played really well against Stranraer last weekend and deserved our 3-1 win.

"As we have everyone fit and available and raring to go I am looking for another similar standard of performance in this game."
