Airdrie United have added tricky winger Alistair Woodburn to their squad following the 21 year olds release from recently promoted Ayr United. Woodburn made his debut for the Honest Men in December 2007, however he failed to establish himself in Brian Reid’s plans during the rest of his time at the club.

Boyle reckons he has unearthed a player that can give him options as he explained, “Alistair can play anywhere in midfield and I remember him playing well against Airdrie in a game last season. He wants to do well here and establish a career for himself and I am delighted we have agreed a deal.”

Boyle has also agreed a deal with long serving captain Paul Lovering for next season which will see the former Clydebank, Hibs, Ayr United and St Johnstone man awarded a testimonial.
