Ayr start preparing for life in First Division

 Second Division Play-off winners Ayr United have released goalkeeper David Crawford as well as defenders Jim Lauchlan, Willie Easton and Bobby Donnelly. Attackers Andy Rodgers, Alistair Woodburn and Aaron Connolly are also leaving Somerset Park after not being offered new terms with Scotland under-21 goalkeeper Alan Martin bringing his time at the club to a close as he wants to return to full time football.

 

Midfield pair Ryan McCann and Scott McLaughlin are in discussions about new deals and defender  Dean Keenan, who missed the majority of last season with a cruciate ligament injury, could earn a short term contract if he proves his fitness.

 

Martyn Campbell, Chris Smith, Ross Robertson and back-up keeper Ryan McWilliams have all agreed to remain as Honest Men with manager Brian Reid waiting to hear back from Mark Roberts, Eddie Malone and Alan Trouten.

 

Reid is keen to add to his promoted squad saying, “I am looking for a powerful striker to give us something different up front and a new goalkeeper
