Defeats for Forfar and Arbroath

Local rivals Forfar Athletic and Arbroath remain first and second in Ladbrokes League 2 after both were beaten today.

Forfar went down 1-0 to Montrose at Links Park as Chris Templeman's early goal moved the home side to within a point of the play-offs.

Arbroath looked set to take over at the top on goal difference until Ryan Porteous struck in stoppage time to earn Edinburgh City a 1-0 win at Gayfield.

David Goodwillie scored a second-half hat-trick as Clyde hit back to beat Elgin City 3-2 at Broadwood after the visitors led through goals from Chris McLeish and Chris Dodd.

Annan Athletic are third after beating Berwick Rangers 2-1 at Galabank. Steven Thomson cancelled out Darren Ramsay's penalty but Aidan Smith grabbed the winner.

Bottom club Cowdenbeath cruised to a 3-0 win away to Stirling Albion with goals from Dale Carrick (2) and Kris Renton.
