Goalkeeper Arnaud Gastal has turned down the offer of a new deal at Dumbarton and returned to his Paris home after just 5 months with the Sons.

The 20-year-old, who started his career at La Berrichonne de Chateauroux, signed on last December and played once in a 4-2 win over Brechin City.

Dumbarton boss Alan Adamson said, “We had hoped that Arnaud would stay and provide competition for Stephen Grindlay and Jamie Ewings, however he has opted to return to France.”

“Hopefully he will find a new club there quite quickly.”
