Former Celtic goal-grabbing kid Liam Gormley has agreed a contract with Second Division East Fife to end a six month search for a new club.

The 19-year-old who was part of the Celtic under-19 double winning side last season moved to Parkhead from Motherwell in 2009 and gained Scotland recognition at under-16 Victory Shield and under-17 level, however he was released by in the summer.

Gormley headed to Birmingham City in the summer for a trial and then had a two month spell at Morton where he scored regularly in their reserve side, however Allan Moore’s budget could not stretch far enough to bring the striker in.

The striker played and scored for Billy Brown’s side against Albion Rovers at the weekend as a trialist with Brown saying, “That was a good start and hopefully he will be a success in his career at New Bayview.”
