Roddy McKenzie in action for Queen of the SouthExperienced goalkeeper Roddy McKenzie is leaving First Division side Queen of the South after just over 18 months by mutual consent. The 36-year-old started his career at Hearts in 1993 and had spells at Stenhousemuir, Livingston – twice and Dunfermline before joining the Doonhamers in June 2010.

Shortly after signing up at Dumfries McKenzie suffered a torn cruciate in a pre-season Testimonial Game for Queen’s defender Jim Thomson against Rangers and that kept him out until March of last year.

The form of Lee Robinson has restricted McKenzie’s first team opportunities in this campaign with manager Gus McPherson saying, “We wish Roddy good luck to him in whatever he does next.”
