McLaughlin rejoins Ayr

Friday 15th March 2013

Peterhead midfielder Scott McLaughlin has returned to his former club Ayr United on loan and the 29 year old is hoping to help the Honest Men to promotion via the play-offs for a second time.

McLaughlin has joined on a temporary basis until the end of the season after finding it difficult to combine playing with the Blue Toon and commuting from his Paisley home and he hopes to be repeat the success he enjoyed in 2011 with the Honest Men.

The former Livingston, Morton, Airdrie United and Queen of the South player said: “I enjoyed my time here before and only left as Queen of the South offered full time football.”

“The Second Division is really tight and there is no reason why we cannot force our way into things. Our play-off success at Brechin two years ago was a great day and it would be wonderful to recreate that.”
