Queen’s Park youngster David Verlaque, who starred as the Hampden’s under-19 side romped to the SFL Under-19 Youth Division title, has been released by the Spiders at his own request to allow him to fulfil his dream and secure full time football.

The 17-year-old right back or centre half moved up an age group to play in 18 of the 23 games at an under-19 age group so far this season with the youngster saying: “I have spent 2 and half seasons with Queen’s Park and would like to thank their Head of Youth David McCallum and the entire club for their support. I have developed well during that time at the hands of excellent coaches, and have gained a lot of experience playing in a league that has older players.”

“I feel at this time to move on and secure full time football especially as I had interest from English clubs last year and was spent 6 weeks down south on trial.”

Verlaque added: “Unfortunately I could not sign for anyone due to school exams but I am hoping that as I am entering my final few months at school I can go on trial and secure a full time deal.”
