Tough tackling full back Willie Lyle is hoping to find a new club after being surprisingly released by Stenhousemuir despite being their club captain and having played there for 5 seasons.

The 28-year-old has played in nearly 350 games for Ayr United, Raith Rovers and Stranraer since starting out in 2002.

Lyle said, “I enjoyed my time at Stenhousemuir and as well as being there for a large part of my career it was an honour to be their captain. Hopefully that experience along with the game time I have gathered and the fact I can play right and left back will make me attractive to other clubs.”
