Midfielder Neil MacFarlane, who began his career at Queen’s Park in 1999 before having spells at eight different clubs has left Morton by mutual consent.

The 32 year old swapped Queen of the South for Cappielow in the summer of 2009, however he has become frustrated by a lack of regular action with Greenock boss Allan Moore saying, “Neil has not been getting a regular start in recent weeks, and understandably he wants to play. We can not guarantee him that on a regular basis so it is better if he can get another Club where he is playing regularly. It also means that we can hopefully add another player to our squad.”

Former Queen’s Park winger Ryan Holms has ended his stay at Berwick Rangers after just a month after being unable to force himself into the starting plans of manager Jimmy Crease.

Steven HowarthMotherwell and Clyde have agreed on a fee for the deal to take Bully Wee youngster Steve Howarth to Fir Park on a permanent basis.

Former Hearts and Queen’s Park player John Neil has agreed a deal to keep him at East Stirling until the end of the season. Shire’s Head Coach Jim McInally said, “John had done well here in his fist month after a year out of the game. He is an extremely versatile player and that flexibility is really important to a club like us.”

Former Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Nimmo has ended his spell as an Arbroath player by mutual consent. Nimmo joined the Gayfield club last January from Angus neighbours Brechin City where he spent 18 months after being released by the Portman Road club

Queen of the South have loaned out youngster Gavin Reilly to near neighbours Gretna 2008. The young striker signed a professional deal with the Doonhamers at the start of the season and made a substitute appearance against Dundee in the First Division.

Scott MorrisonDundee have allowed 19 year old right sided defender Connor Rennie to join Highland League side Deveronvale on loan. Rennie joined the Dark Blues from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the summer of 2009, however he has yet to feature for Gordon Chisholm’s first team.

Brechin City’s back up goalkeeper Scott Morrison, who joined the club recently from Arbroath, has moved to Glasgow Junior side Pollok on loan.
