Highland League clubs Inverurie Locos and Wick Academy will join the 30 SFL sides in today’s draw for first round of the 2012/13 Ramsdens Cup that is being held at the home of holders Falkirk.

Locos finished in fourth spot in last season’s Highland League and Wick, who finished eighth place, have been asked to take part as a reward for their work in the SFA’s Club Licensing programme.

Clubs finishing higher in last season’s table such as champions Forres Mechanics and second placed Cove Rangers are not yet as compliant with the SFA’s Regulation programme, with Buckie Thistle and Deveronvale ruled out as they were invited to play in last season’s tournament.

The competition will again begin on a regional basis with the North and East Section containing - Alloa Athletic, Arbroath, Brechin City, Cowdenbeath, Dundee, Dunfermline Athletic, East Fife, Elgin City, Falkirk, Forfar Athletic, Inverurie Locos, Montrose, Peterhead, Raith Rovers, Stirling Albion and Wick Academy.

This section will produce 8 of the 16 first round ties with the remaining ties coming from the South and West Section that contains Airdrie United, Albion Rovers, Annan Athletic, Ayr United, Berwick Rangers, Clyde, Dumbarton, East Stirlingshire, Hamilton Accies, Livingston, Morton, Partick Thistle, Queen of the South, Queen’s Park, Stenhousemuir and Stranraer.

The ties are due to be played on the weekend of July 28 and 29.

The draw will take place at 2.00pm approximately and we aim to have the ties on the website shortly afterwards.

Please check in then to see the draw.
