Sheerin makes tough decisions

Wednesday 1st June 2011

Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin has admitted that the past few days has been really tough as he released long serving full back Kevin McMullen and his own cousin Jordyn Sheerin from the Third Division Championship winning squad.

Sheerin said, “Releasing Kevin was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make so far and it was a tough one. He is a bit of a legend at the club and I have also released Jordyn as well after a year with us.”

The Gayfield boss added, “Striker David McGowan is also leaving after we made him an offer but he decided not to take it.”

Sheerin has added Dundee United youngster Jordan Elverson as well as signing up Keith Gibson, Stuart Malcolm, Kieran McAnespie, Lee Sibanda and Darren Hill from last season’s squad.
