Former Scotland under-21 winger Darren Smith has joined Stenhousemuir where he has been reunited with his former Motherwell team-mate Martyn Corrigan.

Smith started his career at Fir Park and played there from 2007-2010, during which time he had a loan spell at the Warriors, before moving to Ross County 2 years ago.

A broken scaphoid bone blighted his time at Dingwall and he joined Stirling Albion last season where he featured in over 30 games, however he left the Binos after they were relegated to Division Three.

Recently appointed Stenhousemuir manager Corrigan said, “I have known Darren since he was a kid and I am delighted to have him here. He had a slight knock when he first arrived but he came on and scored against East Stirling in a Stirlingshire cup tie and that clinched things for me.”
