Third Lanark's new kitThe drive to get Third Lanark playing again after nearly 45 years by River City and Taggart actor Simon Weir has received a welcome boost from sportswear firm Macron.

The Italian company’s UK representative Andrea Palilla heard about the work being done in rebuilding the Cathkin Park ground, left by the Hi-Hi’s in 1967 from his brother Michele and decided to help out.

Michele has joined Weir and Pat McGeady, the uncle of former Celtic player Aiden who runs the clubs Supporters arm, in the Herculean task of patching up the ground in the South side of Glasgow as well as running teams bearing the Third Lanark name and official badge.

Macron have donated a full set of training kit in Third’s famous scarlet colours to have Weir beaming, “Michele has been helping us restore Cathkin inch by inch and asked his brother to assist his new favourite team in Scotland. We cannot thank the brothers enough for this marvellous and timely gift and our players are very proud to wear the kits.”
