Michael O'ByrneAlbion Rovers Manager Paul Martin is beefing up his squad for life in the Second Division next season and he has added to the signings of midfield pair Andy Scott and Scott Chaplain by bringing in two defenders.

Centre back Michael O’Byrne is to return to Coatbridge just 12 months after joining Livingston, with former Hibs and Ayr United full back Allan Dempsie joining him from Elgin City.

Allan DempsieMartin is delighted saying, “Bringing Michael back is a bit of a coup has there was interest from elsewhere. He started off at Dundee United and won a Championship medal at Dumbarton before spending a season at Cliftonhill.”

“His form here earned him a good move to Livingston and I am delighted that he has chosen to return to us and hopefully he can start where he left off.”

Full back Dempsie began his career at Easter Road in 2002 and Martin added, “Allan always played well for Elgin City against us in the Third Division and when I heard he was available I got in touch quite quickly. I was pleased when he agreed to become a Rover.”
