Amaya comes and goes quickly

Spanish striker stays only six weeks at Galabank

Annan Athletic FCSpanish striker Javier Amaya’s stay at Third Division Annan has been a brief one with the former Raith Rovers frontman leaving Galabank little more than six weeks after joining them.

Amaya started two games and made three substitute appearances during his time in Black and Gold scoring once in a Scottish Cup replay against Preston Athletic. Annan boss Harry Cairney said, “Javier has been released from the club, and we wish him well and hopes he finds a club that will allow him to pursue his dream of full-time football.”

Sean O'ConnorQueen of the South striker Sean O’Connor has joined Annan as a short term replacement with the former Dundee United man making a scoring start to his month long loan deal against Stranraer at the weekend.
