Aberdeen set for Europa qualifier

Thursday 13th July 2017

Ladbrokes Premiership runners-up Aberdeen are in Europa League second-round qualifying action on Thursday evening.

The Dons welcome Siroki Brijeg - who beat Ordabasy of Kazakhstan in the previous round - to Pittodrie, with the second leg in Bosnia a week later.

Derek McInnes' side beat Fola Esch and Ventspils in last season's Europa League qualifiers before losing 2-1 on aggregate to Maribor of Slovenia.

This season marks 50 years since Aberdeen's first European tie, when they beat KR Reykjavik 14-1 on aggregate in the Cup Winners' Cup.
