Caley Thistle through to semi-finals

Connor Bell scored the only goal as Inverness Caley Thistle beat Championship rivals Falkirk 1-0 to reach the IRN-BRU Cup semi-finals.

It was a club record seventh successive shut out for John Robertson's side as they got the better of Paul Hartley's team in the Highland capital.

Earlier in the day, goals from Chris McLaughlin and Ally Roy earned Dumbarton a 2-0 home win over Raith Rovers while Dundee United lost 2-1 to Crusaders at Tannadice despite going ahead through Fraser Fyvie early in the second half.

In Sunday's game, Welsh champions The New Saints beat Queen of the South on penalties after it finished 0-0 at Park Hall Stadium.
