Aberdeen ended their long wait for a win at Ibrox when they beat Rangers 2-1 in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Wednesday evening.

The Dons hadn't won there since September 1991 but goals from Graeme Shinnie and Ryan Christie had them in command. Martyn Waghorn pulled one back and Jayden Stockley was sent off in the last minute but Derek McInnes' men held on to go nine points ahead of the Light Blues.

St Johnstone's excellent season continued with a 1-0 win over Hearts at McDiarmid Park thanks to a first-half goal from Chris Kane, which moved them 12 points clear in fourth place.

Inverness Caley Thistle kept alive their hopes of avoiding the drop with a crucial 2-0 victory against Dundee at Dens Park thanks to early goals from Billy Mckay and Alex Fisher.
