Hat-trick for Edouard, United go top

Odsonne Edouard hit a hat-trick as Celtic beat Motherwell 5-1 at Parkhead to move seven points clear in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Substitute James Forrest netted a double as Brendan Rodgers' men made it 67 domestic games without defeat. Elliott Frear scored for Well.

Hibernian are up to third place following a 1-0 win away to Partick Thistle, courtesy of an Adam Barton own goal, while Mark O'Hara sent Dundee on their way to a 2-0 victory at Ross County. Eamonn Brophy grabbed the winner as Kilmarnock beat St Johnstone 2-1 at McDiarmid Park and it finished 1-1 between Hearts and Hamilton Accies at Tynecastle.

Dundee United moved to the top of the Ladbrokes Championship with a 2-1 win against Dunfermline Athletic at Tannadice, with Scott Fraser netting a first-half double. St Mirren slipped to second after losing 1-0 at home to Dumbarton at the Paisley 2021 Stadium, where Tom Walsh scored towards the end. Morton saw off bottom club Brechin City 4-1 at Cappielow to move up to fifth, Queen of the South and Inverness Caley Thistle drew 0-0 at Palmerston, and Livingston v Falkirk was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Chris Higgins was the matchwinner for Ayr United as they beat Albion Rovers 3-2 at Somerset Park to stay three points clear in Ladbrokes League 1. Second-placed Raith Rovers defeated Alloa Athletic 2-1 at Stark's Park while Stranraer claimed a 2-1 success against Arbroath at Gayfield. A Luke Donnelly double earned Queen's Park their first home win of the season, 2-1 against East Fife, and Airdrieonians hit back to beat 10-man Forfar Athletic 2-1.

Montrose edged two points in front in Ladbrokes League 2 despite a 0-0 draw with Clyde at Broadwood as second-placed Stirling Albion lost 1-0 at Berwick Rangers. Rory McAllister bagged a brace as Peterhead overcame Edinburgh City 3-0 at Balmoor and Annan Athletic ran out 2-0 winners against Elgin City at Galabank. Cowdenbeath v Stenhousemuir was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
