IRN-BRU Cup third round this weekend

The third round of the IRN-BRU Cup takes place this weekend, starting with Dumbarton v Stranraer at the YOUR Radio 103FM Stadium tonight.

Holders Dundee United continue their defence of the trophy with a Tannadice tie against Northern Irish champions Linfield in one of seven fixtures on Saturday – that match is live on BBC ALBA with a 5.15pm kick-off.

There's also live coverage on S4C of The New Saints of Wales v Elgin City, who lost manager Jim Weir to Forfar last weekend. The game at Park Hall Stadium has a 4.30pm kick-off.

There's a battle of the league leaders at the Paisley 2021 Stadium as Championship pacesetters St Mirren host League 1 frontrunners Raith Rovers.

Rivals Falkirk and Dunfermline Athletic clash in an intriguing tie at the Falkirk Stadium. The Bairns this week appointed Paul Hartley as their new manager following the recent departure of Peter Houston.

Inverness Caley Thistle will hope to put some disappointing Championship results behind them when they welcome Jim McInally's League 2 Peterhead to the Caledonian Stadium.

Montrose, going well in League 2, take on Queen of the South at Links Park, while Highland League leaders Cove Rangers play Belfast-based Crusaders at Station Park.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be made on Tuesday at 1.00pm and will be live on the SPFL Facebook page, with ties due on November 11/12.
