St Mirren see off TNS to reach final

Sunday 19th February 2017

St Mirren stormed back to beat the New Saints 4-1 at the Paisley 2021 Stadium and reach the final of the IRN-BRU Cup.

Ryan Brobbel fired TNS ahead with a stunning strike just before half-time but the Buddies were a team transformed in the second half.

Skipper Stephen McGinn lashed home a spectacular equaliser then the visitors had Steven Saunders sent off, with Stevie Mallan scoring directly from the free-kick.

John Sutton saw a penalty saved by Paul Harrison but made amends by scoring the third goal with 10 minutes left. Rory Loy added a late fourth as the Buddies continued their good cup form to knock out the Welsh League leaders.

Jack Ross' side will face Dundee United in the final on the weekend of March 25/26, with the date and venue to be confirmed this week.
