Kevin McGowne, 35, has been awarded the BELL's Player of the Month Award for August after pulling off an astonishing scoring feat with St Mirren against his former club, St. Johnstone.

Successive visits to Perth in league and cup games ensured that the Saint's defender was the match winner on both occasions earning him his first BELL'S award.

He is joined by 21 year old Clyde midfielder, Tom Brighton who has been named the season's first young player of the month.

Tom, who spent 4 years with Rangers before joining the Bully Wee this season is lined up to face his former club in the league cup.

He is currently Clyde's top scorer in cup games with two goals which he scored in early rounds against Montrose and Peterhead.

Iain Macdonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "After such impressive starts to the season both Kevin and Tom were popular choices for these awards."

John Robertson has been named BELL'S First Division Manager of the Month for August. It is John's first award with Ross County having ended August unbeaten and in pole position in the First Division. In previous years, John has been no stranger to picking up the coveted awards including the distinction of winning the BELL'S Manager of the Year Award with Inverness in 2003 after he completed a unique double – winning the BELL's First Division Championship and the BELL'S Cup.

Iain Macdonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager comments, "John has had a great start to the season. He received nominations from virtually all the media involved in the voting process, proving what a strong impact he has made at Ross County."

Robert Connor Picks up BELL'S Second Division Manager of the Month Award for August. The former Scotland international, has claimed his first ever managerial award since taking over the reins at Ayr F.C earlier this year. He was voted the BELL'S Second Division Manager of the Month for August by virtue of an unbeaten league run.

Iain Macdonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "Robert was chosen for the award due to the club's performance in August and the panel of judges felt that this should not go unrecognised"

John Coughlin has been awarded the BELL's Third Division Manager of the Month Award for August.

John, a former St. Mirren boss and Berwick Rangers player, took over his managerial position during the close season. He has successfully steered Berwick Rangers to the top of the Third Division with an unbeaten 5 game run.

The judging panel for the BELL'S Monthly Awards consisted of representatives from the Scottish media.
