Hartley in at Alloa

New Player/Manager appointed at Recreation Park

Alloa Athletic Player/Manager, Paul HartleyThird Division Alloa Athletic will unveil former Aberdeen captain Paul Hartley as their new Player/Manager at a press conference at Recreation Park this afternoon with the former Scotland midfielder expected to bring in his former St. Johnstone team-mate Paddy Connolly as his number two at the club.

Hartley entered into negotiations with the Wasps chairman Mike Mulraney on Monday and they were brought to a successful conclusion yesterday.

Alloa dismissed previous Manager Allan Maitland when they fell into the Play-Offs at the end of the 36 game season, and they were relegated after losing to Annan in the Play-Off semi-final.

Despite this they have successfully persuaded Hartley to join them after being made aware that he was keen to get into management after ending his deal at Aberdeen with a year left because of a medial ligament problem.
