Player Availability - Tony Stevenson

Midfielder looks for new club

Hamilton’s first-ever goalscorer in the SPL, midfielder Tony Stevenson, is on the lookout for a new club after failing to agree a deal with Northern Irish side Portadown.

Stevenson netted a free-kick against Dundee United back in August 2008 to seal his place in New Douglas Park history, however he was released in 2010, after loan spells at Clyde and Alloa Athletic, and moved to Albion Rovers.

Stevenson starred as the Coatbridge side were promoted through the play-offs and then kept their Second Division status but a knee injury saw the 24-year-old drop out of things at Cliftonhill last season.

There was a parting of the ways with Rovers in the summer and Stevenson trained with Morton in pre-season before heading across the Irish Sea where he played in several games as a trialist.

The 25-year-old said: “I decided against staying in Scotland and playing in Northern Ireland so I would like to get something fixed up with a new side as soon as possible.”

If you would like to contact Tony please e-mail here for more details.
