Inverness striker Adam Rooney had the distinction of scoring the 6000th SPL goal on Saturday but ended up on the losing side.

The former Stoke City hitman was on the mark from the penalty spot just before half-time against St Mirren but the visitors from Paisley went on to claim a 2-1 victory in the Highlands.

The first ever SPL goal was scored by Eoin Jess for Aberdeen against Dundee in August 1998 while the 5000th counter came in November 2006 when Scott McDonald netted in Motherwell's win over Falkirk at Fir Park.
