Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his Team of the Week, with Elgin City striker Kane Hester the star man...

GK - Cammy Binnie (Stirling Albion)
Stirling had plenty chances in their 1-0 win at Albion Rovers but the Binos also needed Binnie to make a couple of outstanding saves to earn all three points at the Reigart Stadium.

DC - Nicky Jamieson (Alloa Athletic)
The centre-back was an absolute rock at the heart of the Alloa defence as they chalked up a historic win in the Betfred Cup, defeating Hearts for the first time with a 1-0 win after extra-time and booking a place in the Betfred Cup quarter-finals.

DC - Darren McGregor (Hibernian)
The veteran was recalled for the visit of Dundee in the Betfred Cup last 16 and repaid the faith shown in him by manager Jack Ross. The hosts weren’t at their best but McGregor ensured they didn't have too much to worry about after Jamie Murphy netted the only goal.

DC - Jack Fitzwater (Livingston)
Two goals from the summer signing helped Livingston get off to a flying start at home to Championship opponents Ayr United as the top-flight hosts were 3-0 up inside 12 minutes. They would eventually coast to a 4-0 triumph and a place in the Betfred Cup quarter-finals.

MR - Michael O'Halloran (St Johnstone)
After starring in the No 10 role in midweek, O'Halloran was stationed at the right wing-back role for St Johnstone's Betfred trip to Motherwell, but he was able to keep up his red-hot form anyway, providing two assists as the visitors came from behind to advance.

MC - Jamie McGrath (St Mirren)
The match-winning midfielder was one of several Buddies' stars who shone bright in their 2-1 victory over Aberdeen on Saturday night. The visitors may have been missing some key players but there's little doubt the hosts deserved their win.

MC - Ross Docherty (Partick Thistle)
Thistle earned themselves an important victory in League 1 with a 1-0 triumph at Montrose and Docherty was undoubtedly the game's best player.

ML - Borna Barisic (Rangers)
Rangers made quick and comfortable work of Falkirk on Sunday evening, booking their passage into the next round of the Betfred Cup with a 4-0 win. Barisic scored an excellent free-kick, provided an assist and was involved in another goal.

FR - Ryan Dow (Dunfermline Athletic)
Stevie Crawford's men continued their excellent start to the campaign as they defeated fellow Championship side Arbroath to advance to the Betfred quarter-finals. Dow, along with fellow wing-wizard Dom Thomas, terrorised the home defence. The ex-Dundee United man also opened the scoring in the 3-1 win.

FC - Kane Hester (Elgin City)
This week's star man. Hester bagged a hat-trick as Elgin made relatively simple work of Cowdenbeath, leading 2-0 and 4-1 en route to a 5-2 triumph at Borough Briggs that kept them on the coat-tails of Queen's Park at the top of League 2.

FL - Ross Stewart (Ross County)
The Betfred Cup shock of the round came at Celtic Park where the home side's dominance on Scottish football's major trophies finally came to an end (though they could win another this month). Stewart was one of several County players who was excellent, winning a penalty which he converted to get the visitors off and running in their 2-0 win.
