Ross County cinch Premiership

Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his Team of the Week, with Ross County striker Oli Shaw the star man...

GK - Ross Laidlaw (Ross County)
Although County would finish the day well on top of Aberdeen with a 4-1 victory, they were thankful for their goalkeeper when the match was still in the balance. Amid three key first-half stops, his denial of Matty Kennedy was the best of the lot.

DC - Bevis Mugabi (Motherwell)
Motherwell earned a hard-fought draw against title-chasing Rangers, halting the Ibrox's side winning run at 15 games. While Devante Cole, who also impressed, got the all-important opening goal, we've gone for Mugabi for helping to keep the Rangers attackers at bay for the most part in the 1-1 draw.

DC - Jon Guthrie (Livingston)
The Livingston defender was one of several players who impressed for David Martindale's visitors as they were unlucky not to earn a victory from their trip to Celtic Park, drawing 0-0.

DC - Paul Watson (Dunfermline Athletic)
While Friday's match at Cappielow was low on quality, part of that was down to strong defensive showings from both sides, with Watson standing out above the rest.

MR - Connor Shields (Queen of the South)
Queens were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Arbroath which, after they were leading 2-0, wasn't a welcome result. However, Shields kept up his excellent form by netting twice to put Allan Johnston's side in the driving seat.

MC - Alex Gogic (Hibernian)
The Hibs midfielder not only did a terrific job of protecting the Hibs back four during their 2-0 win over Kilmarnock, he also netted the game-clinching second goal with a tremendous effort from the edge of the area that swerved viciously into the top corner.

MC - Andy Irving (Heart of Midlothian)
Irving netted the opening goal with an excellent strike and was the stand-out player in the away ranks as Hearts were able to outlast Alloa with a 3-1 victory at the Indodrill.

MC - Steven Davis (Rangers)
Even though his team-mates weren't at their best on Sunday, Davis still performed with typical distinction, constantly getting his side on the front foot in the draw at Fir Park.

ML - Jermaine Hylton (Ross County)
We're breaking standard Team of the Week rules here by including more than one player from the same team but, seeing as we only had nine games from which to select players, I'm sure you'll forgive us. Hylton was a constant thorn in the side of Aberdeen and netted County's fourth goal.

FC - Chris Kane (St Johnstone)
The St Johnstone striker impressed in the 1-0 win over 10-man St Mirren at the weekend. He was a menace with his enthusiasm for turning and running at the opposing back-line and got the goal his performance merited.

FC - Oli Shaw (Ross County)
If we're having two players from County, why not three?! After all, it was the performance of the weekend. Shaw netted twice in the victory, both of which were nice finishes into the far corner. For his contribution to such a hugely important result for his side, he is this week's star man.
