Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his Team of the Week, with Rangers winger Ryan Kent the star man

GK - Kyle Gourlay (Hamilton Academical)
One of several Accies players who excelled in the hugely important 2-1 victory at St Mirren. Ross Callachan got a goal and was unlucky to miss out on a place in this team but, without too many goalkeeping contenders, we’ve gone for Gourlay.

DC - Sam Foley (Motherwell)
The versatile veteran put in a man-of-the-match showing against Kilmarnock as the Steelmen controlled most of the game at Fir Park and won 2-0.

DC - Jason Kerr (St Johnstone)
Saints laid down a marker for their Scottish Cup hopes (and cup double hopes) with a clean sheet and three points away to Hibs. Michael O’Halloran was arguably the star man, but with a lot more competition further forward, Kerr gets the nod here.

DC - Gary Irvine (Forfar Athletic)
The player-manager led his side to a second consecutive victory, though it wasn’t enough to save the Loons from being relegated from League 1. On this occasion they were able to overcome Peterhead at Balmoor.

MR - Euan Henderson (Hearts)
The young attacker played a key role in the opener with some impressive off-the-ball movement and finished the second himself as Hearts strolled to a 4-0 win at Raith Rovers.

MC - Iain Vigurs (Ross County)
A blend of expert passing and a tendency to break up play kept County in the ascendancy as they went to Dundee United and got a vital three points in their fight against relegation.

MC - Cammy F Ballantyne (Montrose)
The midfielder provided so much of the punch from the centre of the park as Montrose were able to overturn a half-time deficit to win 2-1 at Falkirk and keep their play-off hopes alive. Ballantyne scored the first with an excellent piece of technique and got an assist for the winner.

MC - Liam Brown (Edinburgh City)
Edinburgh’s entire midfield was excellent in the 2-0 win over Elgin City which guaranteed them a play-off place but as Brown was also on the scoresheet he’s been preferred to his fellow engine-room battlers.

ML - Ryan Kent (Rangers)
Yes, Kemar Roofe got two goals and normally that would be more than enough for a Team of the Week spot. However, Kent was undoubtedly the headliner in Rangers’ 4-1 victory over Celtic as he constantly weaved his way through the opposing defence. He is this week’s star man.

FC - David Goodwillie (Clyde)
The striker put in a terrific shift at the head of the attack as Clyde got themselves a vitally important three points in their battle against the League 1 drop, beating Dumbarton 2-0 to move above the Sons into eighth place.

FC - Jason Cummings (Dundee)
The ex-Hibs striker netted twice as James McPake’s side finished above Raith Rovers in the runners-up spot in the Scottish Championship. Thanks to Cummings, the visitors made quick work of Queen of the South while Rovers were losing to Hearts.
