Hibs go looking for their first league win under Terry Butcher however the Easter Road boss will be watching from the Stands as he serves a one game suspension.

St Johnstone will look to grab a firmer hand on a top six place by defeating a Hibs side that sit immediately below them in the table some 4 points behind.

Assistant manager Maurice Malpas said: “We may have lost 1-0 but there were lots of positives from the Celtic game and there has been plenty of work done on the training pitch this week. I think we are improving in every game and I am looking forward to seeing that in practice against St Johnstone.”

“I think everyone is looking forward to the game and if we keep creating the chances we have been then goals will come.”

Tim Clancy could return after injury however James McPake, Paul Heffernan Alex Harry remain out.

Rory Fallon is banned for a second game running for St Johnstone and Steven McLean is injured however despite this lack of firepower manager Tommy Wright has targeted a win.

Wright said: “If we win this game it would lift us 7 points clear of Hibs but of course they will be seeing this as an opportunity to bring it back to 1 point. Terry Butcher will improve Hibs especially as an attacking side but we have to ensure that does not happen against us.”

“They will be hard working and organised but we can win.”
