Aberdeen, who have lost just once in their last 7 Premiership games to move into second place, entertain undefeated in 5 Hibs at Pittodrie.

The Dons, who have secured late wins against Dundee United and Kilmarnock in their last two games, are facing an Edinburgh side still smarting from the loss of two late goals against the Tannadice men that cost them victory and a fourth win in a row on Sunday.

Alan Tate could make his debut for Derek McInnes’ side after joining them on loan from Swansea as a replacement for Michael Hector who has returned to Reading at the end of his temporary period in the north.

Nicky Low misses out due to a ban with McInnes’ pool reduced with the loan move of Lawrence Shankland to Dunfermline, Jamie Masson to Elgin and Scott Rumsby to Stranraer the Aberdeen boss has added Craig Murray.

Andrew Considine and Clark Robertson remain out through injury.

McInnes said: “We have been on a terrific run recently but we cannot stop doing the things we have been doing to get us up to second. Hibs are a strong side with a physical presence and good skill and it is no surprise to me how well Terry Butcher has them doing.”

“They will be looking to get winning again whereas we want to keep building some momentum for the rest of the season. It will be a tough game to win.”

Hibs manager Terry Butcher has a fully-fit squad to choose from for the first time after wide midfielder Alex Harris was declared fit after more than 4 months out with a broken foot.

Butcher said: “There were lots of positives at Dundee United even though we did not get the victory. We are usually strong towards the end of games but it was a very useful reminder.”

“It has been a demanding time recently but the players have been fantastic and hopefully they will be again at Aberdeen.”

Butcher added: “Aberdeen will be tough and they will finish high up the table. They have experience and youth who have combined well so this will be a test but I want us to test ourselves. We dominated Dundee United at times and it would be great to have another powerful performance at Pittodrie.”
