Kilmarnock will look to pull to within two points of Hibs in the race for a top half place by seeing off the Edinburgh side at Rugby Park.

The long term injured Darren Barr continues to be out with his hip injury however on-loan striker Michael Gardyne returns after missing out against his parent club Dundee United last weekend.Sean Clohessy is added by manager Allan Johnston after proving his fitness.

Johnston said: “This is a very important game to win if we are to get into the top six.  A win in this game and then taking something from our next one at St Mirren will be a real boost in terms of moving up the table.”

“It will be difficult as Hibs will be well up for it after defeating Ross County last week but we have the players here that can with the game for us.”

Hibs bounced back from a disappointing spell in the Premiership and Scottish Cup by defeating Ross County 2-1 last weekend to see them head to Ayrshire looking for a third win of the season over Killie in good spirits.

Hibees skipper Liam Craig is available after a ban however injured midfielders Owain Tudur Jones and Scott Robertson miss out.

Kevin Thomson’s lack of recent game may see him absent despite a return to fitness however Duncan Watmore is added after a knock.

Manager Terry Butcher said: “Kilmarnock are growing into being a very good side when they are attacking. They have good players in that area that can hurt you so we have to keep them quiet.”

“We did that in the game we won 3-0 against Kilmarnock in December and if we do that again we have a real chance of getting another good result.”
