Spiders edge out Thistle on penalties

Gregor Fotheringham netted the decisive penalty as Queen's Park beat their Glasgow rivals 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Firhill. Michael McMullin gave the Thistle youngsters the lead early in the second half but John Carter came off the bench to score a late equaliser. The Jags had David Syme sent off in extra time then lost in the shoot-out.
