Barry Ferguson has been named as the new manager of Alloa Athletic following the recent departure of Peter Grant.
The former Scotland midfielder takes over at the League 1 club after leaving Kelty Hearts, who he guided to promotion to the SPFL via a play-off win over Brechin City.
Alloa chairman Mike Mulraney told the club website: "What attracted us is Barry's enthusiasm and ambition. We’re an ambitious club and when you talk to someone who reflects the qualities of our club then you take that opportunity if it’s available.
"I think the Championship and League 1 are two difficult leagues but, financially, not only will we not be cutting our budget from last season, we’ll probably increase it."
