Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his cinch SPFL XI after the weekend's games...

GK - Will Dennis (Kilmarnock)

Killie are eight points clear in fourth place in the cinch Premiership after their 2-0 victory at St. Johnstone on Saturday. Dennis made an excellent stop from Ryan McGowan to maintain Killie's lead courtesy of Joe Wright's first-half goal. The importance of Dennis' stop grew as Marley Watkins added a second for Derek McInnes' side.

DEF - Alistair Johnston (Celtic)

Reo Hatate's goal claimed the headlines but with two assists and many forays into attack from his right-back role, we're going for Alistair Johnston in this team as he helped Celtic defeat St. Mirren 3-0 to move further ahead in the cinch Premiership title battle.

DEF - Mark Durnan (Dumbarton)

Dumbarton clinched a spot in the cinch League 1 promotion play-offs with a 1-0 victory over Clyde, who fall back to the bottom of cinch League 2. Durnan was a leader at the back for the Sons in a game where high winds made things difficult.

DEF - Frankie Musonda (Ayr United)

A goal and an excellent performance on the left of Ayr United's back four from the defender helped the Honest Men to a huge 5-0 triumph over Arbroath, a result which moves Scott Brown's side six points clear of ninth place with three games remaining.

DEF - Brody Paterson (Kelty Hearts)

Kelty Hearts can look forward to another season of cinch League 1 football after edging out Stirling Albion 1-0 at home. Paterson, as he has all season, put in an assured showing at left-back.

MID - Glenn Middleton (Dundee United)

A goal and a dynamic showing from the winger helped Dundee United to a comprehensive 4-1 thumping of Greenock Morton on Friday night. The result moves the Terrors six points ahead of second-place Raith Rovers in the cinch Championship title race with three matches remaining.

MID - Lee Currie (Bonnyrigg Rose)

Bonnyrigg Rose secured the result of the weekend in cinch League 2 as they continued their unbeaten run under new boss Calum Elliot with a 4-1 triumph at East Fife. Currie was at the heart of Rose's good play with two assists.

MID - Willie Gibson (Annan Athletic)

Three assists from the veteran midfielder helped move Annan Athletic away from the relegation places in cinch League 1 for the first time since October as they defeated Cove Rangers 4-2 at the Galabank.

MID - Cameron Harper (Inverness CT)

Inverness CT claimed a huge result in the Championship play-off battle, winning 1-0 at direct rivals Queen's Park to leapfrog the Spiders in the table. Harper was the match winner with an excellent free-kick and he's earned a spot at left wing in this team.

FWD - Lawrence Shankland (Hearts)

Hearts showed character to recover from an early 2-0 deficit before fighting back in style to clinch a 4-2 win, inspired by their goalscoring hero. Lawrence Shankland scored from the spot and registered two assists while helping to create another goal as the Tynecastle club secured European football for next season.

FWD - Simon Murray (Ross County)

Ross County defeated Rangers for the first time in their history and moved to within one point of St. Johnstone with a thrilling 3-2 triumph in Dingwall. Murray scored the equaliser and played a crucial role in the second goal whilst giving the Ibrox defence endless problems with his hard running. He is this week's Star Man.
