Aberdeen will play Kairat Almaty in the third qualifying round of the Europa League after securing a 5-2 aggregate victory over Rijeka.

Derek McInnes' men earned a superb 3-0 win in Croatia last week but were given a scare when Rijeka scored twice in the space of five minutes either side of the hour mark.

Niall McGinn responded almost immediately and Jonny Hayes grabbed the equaliser in 72 minutes to book a tie against Almaty, with the first leg in Kazakhstan next week.

Inverness Caley Thistle came up just short despite a strong performance against Astra in Romania, where a 0-0 draw wasn't enough after John Hughes' team had been edged out 1-0 in the Highlands a week ago.
