Hamilton Accies have been promoted to the Scottish Premiership after beating Hibernian 4-3 on penalties in front of 18,031 fans on an incredible Sunday afternoon at Easter Road.
Hibs led 2-0 from the first leg of the play-off final at New Douglas Park in midweek but Jason Scotland fired Accies ahead with a low shot past Ben Williams in 13 minutes.
The Championship runners-up played well throughout and were rewarded in stoppage time when Tony Andreu swept the ball home after good work by Scotland to take the tie into extra time.
The additional period failed to produce a goal and the match went to penalties, with Hamilton keeper Kevin Cuthbert saving the first kick from Kevin Thomson.
Grant Gillespie, Ryan McGivern, Tony Andreu, Liam Craig, Mickael Antoine-Curier, Owain Tudur Jones and Jason Scotland all scored but midweek hero Jason Cummings saw his effort saved and Hibernian will now join city rivals Hearts in the Championship next season.
