Championship leaders Hamilton Accies have released midfielder Kieran Millar from the club to allow the 19-year-old to pursue a place at University.
Millar, who came through the club’s Youth Academy after joining them as a 9 year old, made 3 first team appearances however a knee ligament injury in pre-season last summer side-lined Millar until January when an attempted comeback in the club’s under 20 side failed.
Millar was all set to return to full training last month however a foot injury saw him ruled out for up to 6 months to leave player/ manager Alex Neil saying: “Kieran has discussed the situation with his family and the club and he has now applied to go to university. We will monitor his rehab later in the season and keep in touch with him.”
“He goes with our best wishes and we wish him a full recovery.”
