Airdrie United could be set to re-launch the career of former St. Mirren, Blackburn Rovers, Livingston, Sheffield Wednesday and Falkirk midfielder Burton O’Brien who has been out of the game for over a year.
The 31-year-old last played in May 2011 when the Bairns lost 3-0 to Dunfermline Athletic however, he featured in a bounce game for the Diamonds on Monday night against Albion Rovers and talks over a deal have started.
O’Brien, who played for Scotland’s Under-21 side 6 times and won a League Cup winners' medal for Livi, is also in demand abroad with Airdrie boss Jimmy Boyle saying, “Burton has a great deal of experience and is versatile so he would be a welcome addition to any squad in this League. We will keep talking to him to see what we can do to bring him on board.”
