Dumbarton have been boosted by the news that manager Stevie Aitken has agreed a new two-year contract with the Ladbrokes Championship club.
The former Stranraer boss kept the Sons in the second tier of Scottish football last season and they are now preparing for their sixth campaign in a row at that level.
Chairman Les Hope told the Dumbarton website: “The fact Stevie has kept us in the Championship for two seasons speaks volumes about his ability at this level and we are delighted to retain his services. We are absolutely confident that we can repeat our successes of previous seasons in the 2017/18 campaign.”
