Aitken lands League 1 award

Stranraer boss Stephen Aitken has been named Scottish League 1 Manager of the Month for September.

The 38-year-old, who won the award three times last season, guided the Stair Park club to 2-0 wins over Ayr United and Stirling Albion, either side of a 3-3 at Airdrie.

Stranraer also knocked Falkirk out of the Petrofac Training Cup to reach the semi-finals, where they lost on penalties to Livingston after a 1-1 draw yesterday.
