Albion Rovers boss Paul Martin signed his fourth new striker in a fortnight when he recruited 20-year-old Danny McKay following his release from Kilmarnock.
McKay, who was named a Clydesdale Bank under 19 League ‘Rising Star’ of the 2009–10 season had yet to make a first team appearance for the Rugby Park, however he has had top team experience during loan spells with Ayr United where he banged in 7 goals.
The front-man is now fighting it out with fellow new recruits Paul Quinn and Sean Pierce as well as on-loan Rangers striker Jack Werndly for a starting place with Martin saying, “I am delighted that we managed to get Daniel on board and I am hoping he can grab some goals for us. We are certainly creating some competition for places which can only be a good thing.”
