Alloa have signed former Rangers and Motherwell midfielder Steven Hetherington on a one-year contract after the 21-year-old impressed manager Barry Smith in pre-season.
Hetherington started his career at Hartlepool before heading north to Ibrox for two seasons in 2009. He then moved on to Motherwell, where he played three times for the first team.
Hetherington also had a loan spell at Airdrie before being released in May 2013 and he spent last season at Celtic Nation and Crook Town after a trial at Crystal Palace was unsuccessful.
Smith said: “I am pleased to get Steven on board and I am sure that he will have a good season for us.”
