Former Hearts assistant manager Hugh McCann is spearheading a dramatic youth development programme at Alloa Athletic.
The under-19 side meet St. Johnstone in the final of the S.F.L. Youth League Cup while, their under-17 side met Dundee in the semi-final of their cup competition.
James Stevenson, who played a major role in keeping the club in the second division but who has now moved to Morton, came through the youth set up.
Striker Ross Muir, Michael Stewart, Scott Swanie, John Grant, John McKnight and James McDougall will all be in the under 19 side in their final tomorrow and Maitland said; "All of these lads have been in our first team squad in the past few months. "
