Annan boss Jim Chapman has re-signed coach Peter Weatherston as a player after the 34-year-old made a scoring comeback from injury as a trialist last weekend.
The former Morton man joined the Galabankies in the summer of 2013 but last November he suffered a cruciate injury in the warm-up to a game with Berwick Rangers and required surgery.
Chapman said: “He has been looking to get back playing for weeks but, having suffered a knee injury in my playing career myself, I was reluctant to throw him in.
“He wore me down last week and I agreed to play him at Ochilview as a trialist and I am glad that I did. He was terrific and we have now spoken about getting him registered as a player.”
