Bell's Monthly Awards for November, 2005

Awards Announced

BELL'S Player of the Month: John Rankin, Ross County F.C.

BELL'S Young Player of the Month: John Sutton, St. Mirren F.C.

BELL'S Manger of the Month, First Division: Gus MacPherson, St. Mirren F.C.

BELL'S Manager of the Month, Second Division: Jim McInally, Morton F.C.

BELL'S Manager of the Month, Third Division: Des McKeown, Stenhousemuir F.C.

Gus MacPherson and John Sutton continue to contribute to St. Mirren's recent successes as they triumph in the BELL'S monthly awards for November.

Gus's Manager of the Month (First Division) award is first BELL'S award of the season, his last being won in September 2004. He has led the club through an unbeaten month in November.

Young Player of the Month John Sutton, 21, picked up a BELL'S award in the past while with Raith Rovers.

The ex-Dundee player is joint top-scorer with the club with eight goals this season, and he wrote himself into the St. Mirren history books by scoring the winning goal in the BELL'S Cup Final – a goal which saw his side crowned BELL'S Cup champions for the first time, and the first trophy the club has won since the Scottish Cup in 1987.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "St. Mirren have had an outstanding month and both Gus and John have excelled in their work for the club. As such, the judges were keen to see this recognised in the BELL'S awards for November."

Jim McInally of Morton F.C. has been awarded his second BELL'S trophy of the year as he picks up Manager of the Month (Second Division) for November, after having won previously in March this year.

Jim, one of the few ex-Scotland players working as an SFL manager, has given service as a player to five clubs. He has led Morton through an unbeaten month in November, and the club are tipped as possible promotion candidates.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "Jim has done a tremendous job as manger of Morton, with the club enjoying an unbeaten month. He was a popular choice for this month's BELL'S award."

Des McKeown has been awarded the BELL'S Manager of the Month (Third Division) award for November for his management of Stenhousemuir F.C.

Des has led Stenhousemuir through a successful November, during which time the club narrowed the gap with Berwick at the top of the Division.

Des has played with five clubs and also used to play for the team he currently manages. This is Des's first ever BELL'S Manager of the Month award.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "Stenhousemuir have had a great month, thanks in part to Des's management skills. We are delighted to be able to contribute towards the recognition of his hard work with the BELL'S Manager of the Month award."

John Rankin of Ross County F.C. has had his outstanding successes on the field this month recognised as he picks up the BELL'S Player of the Month award for November.

John scored in all of Ross County's league games in November and became the first First Division player to score a hat-trick this season. He was the match winner for four games in November and leads the scoreboard with ten goals this season.

John was formerly with Manchester United as a youth player, coming north to join Ross County in July 2003.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "John has been a consistent scorer for his team, contributing strongly to their victories in the November fixtures. He was a popular choice for the award this month."
