Inverness Caledonian Thistle celebrated a notable hat-trick today after winning three SPFL monthly awards in recognition of their table-topping performances in August.
John Hughes was voted Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month, with influential midfielder Ross Draper named SPFL Player of the Month and teenager Ryan Christie following suit as Young Player of the Month. The latter two awards cover all four divisions.
The Highlands club sit top of the Premiership after winning four and drawing one of their opening five league games in August. Draper played in all 450 minutes while Christie was in the starting XI in every game and netted in the opening-day victory away to Hamilton Academical.
It is the only the second time since the formation of the SPFL last summer that a single club has won three awards in the same month, Dundee United being the first to do so in November 2013 (Jackie McNamara, Andy Robertson and Ryan Gauld).
Earlier today Heart of Midlothian’s Robbie Neilson was presented with the Scottish Championship Manager of the Month award thanks to a 100% league record in August.
On Tuesday, Allan Moore was named Scottish League 2 Manager of the Month after he also guided his new club to four league wins from four in the opening month of the season. The Scottish League 1 Manager of the Month winner will be announced on Sunday.
